Hello
Hi, I’m Nigel Harman. You may recognise me from the telly, the stage (or my right ear from the movie “Blood Diamond”) rather than as a meditation teacher.
I started meditating over a decade ago and I’ve felt the positive impact it has had on my life and on those around me. Wherever in life we are, each of us will have periods where we feel we are out of step with ourselves, treading water, or even adrift.
Taking a moment to Pause, Relax, Open, reconnects us with ourselves and the life that is here, right now, all around us. That’s why I want to help you get started or deepen your practice by sharing practical tips, techniques, and advice.
My Story
Over 10 years ago now, a friend and mentor gave me a copy of “A Path with Heart” by Jack Kornfield. I was looking for more connection and meaning in life, so I read it cover to cover. I made notes and markings, underlined passages, doodled and spilt tea all over it. Some pages are hard to make out these days.
At the end of each chapter was a meditation. I had read it many times but never tried it. So, one morning I crept downstairs before the house was awake and entered the living room. Closing my eyes, and following Jack’s guidance, I started, for the first time ever, to notice my breathing. How could something so simple be so powerful? I was struck by a beauty, a clarity, a freedom, and an energy that coursed through my body. And all in just 5 minutes!

The Benefits of Meditation
​
The benefits of meditation are vast and across all areas of life. From reducing stress and anxiety to increasing focus and concentration. Helping with depression, to living with a fuller, warmer heart. It can help with sleep, illness, pain, and love. Meditation has brought me peace, openess and the courage to spend time with (and even appreciate) my shadow self. I laugh longer, cry louder, I love deeper.

Launching The Meditating Actor
After completing The Power of Awareness course I started training as a teacher with Jack Kornfield (big fan!) and the magnetic Tara Brach. Now is the time I start teaching under their guidance and I would love for you to join me.
